Erosion Resistant Flux-Cored Wires – Protection for High-Velocity Flow
Erosion resistant wires are formulated for components attacked by high-velocity particles and particle-laden gas or gas/suspension streams. Their deposits combine fine, hard phases with a tough matrix, providing strong resistance to surface cutting and micro-chipping under angled flow.
Theyare used in routine plant maintenance to rebuild thin-wall sections and apply protective layers in areas where flow direction, angle and turbulence are constantly changing.
Typical Applications
• Hardfacing rotary feeder rotors and housings
• Reinforcing pneumatic conveying elbows, tees and reducers
• Protecting fan housings, fan blades and gas ducts
• Lining erosion-prone zones in cyclones and separators
Key Features
• High resistance to particle and droplet erosion at angle
• Suitable for thin and medium-thickness protective overlays
• Good performance under turbulence and fluctuating flow
• Compatible with buffer/buildup layers where required
