Steel Mill Roll Flux-Cored Wires – Rebuilding and Armoring Mill and Caster Rolls
Steel mill roll wires are specialized flux-cored alloys for rebuilding and hardfacing rolls in hot and cold rolling mills, continuous casters and material transfer lines. Their deposits are formulated to resist surface fatigue, indentation, thermal cycling and abrasive wear, while maintaining the geometry and profiler equired for rolling stability.
They are used in workshop or in-situ roll repair programs, either as a full re-surfacing system (build-up + working layer) or for localized restoration of worn zones.
Typical Applications
• Hot strip, plate and section mill rolls
• Continuous casting rollers
• Pinch rolls, guide rolls and deflector rolls
• Transfer and support rollers in high-temperature areas
Key Features
• Microstructures tailored for rolling contact and thermal fatigue
• Stable hardness under load and repeated heating/cooling
• Suitable for multi-layer build-up and contour restoration
• Can be finish-ground or machined depending on wire type
