Heat Resistant Flux-Cored Wires – Hardfacing for Hot Service Components
Heat resistant flux-cored wires are used for surfacing and rebuilding components working at elevated temperatures, where hot abrasion, oxidation and thermal cycling act together. Their deposits maintain hardness and structural integrity in service temperatures typically up to 600 °C, depending on the grade.
They are widely used during shutdowns in steel, cement, and power plants to restore worn parts in hot gas and hot material handling systems
Typical Applications
• Hardfacing rotary valves, rotary feeders and hot chutes
• Refurbishing clinker cooler parts and hot cyclones
• Surfacing hot ducts, elbows and material slides
• Rebuilding rollers and guides exposed to radiant heat
Key Features
• Stable hardness at elevated operating temperatures
• Good resistance to scaling and high-temperature oxidation
• Suitable for multi-layer surfacing on heat-exposed parts
• Compatible with abrasion and erosion mechanisms in hot zones
